Olive Oil, Olives, and Olive Paste
Olive oil has a long history in Greece, dating all the way back to ancient times. Its great importance is obvious -the olive branch is still retaining the meaning of peace and victory.
Olive oil is the most popular cooking oil in Greece even today. The unique taste it gives to the food is not something that can be imitated or compared with, and the restaurants that can boast about using it for their dishes never fail to do so.
The Great Holy Monastery of Vatopedi offers a variety of unique products, ranging from their extra virgin organic oil to their organic olive paste and spreads.
Honey
‘It tastes like honey’ means that something is sweet or just too good.
However, there is no ‘honey’ taste, the same way there is no ‘tea’ taste. The taste of a cup of tea depends on the herbs used to brew it. The taste of honey depends on the environment the bees live in, and the nectar they were able to collect.
In the pure lands of Mount Athos, the monks take good care of their bees, as they have been doing for hundreds of years.
The result is honey… that truly tastes like honey.
Herbs

The wide collection of herbs includes Basil, Chamomile, Sideritis-Mountain Tea, Mint, Oregano, Rosemary, Peppermint, Lemon balm, Lavender, Lemon verbena, Sage and Thyme.
